I have been using the zinc lozenges for years. They work very well. The delivery through the online store was quick! Very nice!
It takes a moment to get used to the taste, but the positive effect on a tickly cough is immediately noticeable. I am pleased with it.
Functions of zinc in the body
Zinc has various functions. It plays a role in the normal absorption and action of vitamins, particularly the B-complex. It is a component of at least 25 enzymes involved in digestion and metabolism. Zinc is essential for growth and development. It is also important for the formation of skin tissue. It plays a role in the production of proteins in the body, aids in recovery, and supports the immune system.

Per daily dosage of 1 lozenge:
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid, calcium ascorbate, sodium ascorbate) 30 mg 37.5%*
Zinc (-citrate) 4 mg 40%*
Propolis extract (1:1) (3.5% flavonoids consisting of chrysin, galangin, and pinocembrin) 12 mg

dextrose, sweetener (xylitol, thaumatin), maltodextrin, vitamins, anti-caking agent (silicon dioxide, stearic acid, magnesium stearate), flavour (lemon, lime), honey, zinc citrate, propolis extract.
Food supplement with sweeteners.
As maintenance, the recommended dosage is 1 lozenge per day. The maximum dosage is 6 lozenges per day, unless advised otherwise. Children aged 3 to 7 years 2 lozenges per day, children aged 7 to 13 years 3 lozenges per day.
Contains dextrose and sweeteners. Suitable for children from 3 years old. Excessive consumption may have a laxative effect. Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

According to legislation, xylitol can be used without concern in moderation during pregnancy. Orthica is therefore being overly cautious with this statement. This applies to all their products, which often causes unnecessary worry.
You can confidently use these tablets, whether you are already pregnant or wish to become so later, but if you experience loose stools, reduce your intake.
Regarding Orthica's supplements, it is best to choose the Prena Fem pregnancy multivitamin. This provides 15 mg of zinc per daily dose (two soft gels), which is typically more than sufficient.
On 04 november 2015 by Customer serviceIt is preferable to combine it with extra vitamin C and a multivitamin. For instance, the vitamin C chewable tablets and the children's multi orange. If you give 2 tablets of this children's multi per day, it will provide 3 mg of zinc. You can then reduce the intake of Orthica's zinc lozenges to, for example, 3 tablets per day, and maintain it at 1 tablet in the long term.
Please note: lozenges are particularly sensitive to moisture. Always open the jars with dry hands and in a dry environment. Also, try to finish the jars within a few weeks/months after opening, according to the guidelines on the label. It is not advisable to keep an opened jar until the following autumn.

Zinc is indeed important during pregnancy, and pregnancy multivitamins often contain more than three times the amount of zinc found in one of these lozenges. Therefore, regarding the amount of zinc, it is not a problem.
