The use of B12 is recommended for vegans, as B12 naturally occurs mainly in animal products. For vegetarians who consume dairy and eggs, the risk of a B12 deficiency is much smaller.
A deficiency in vitamin B12 can have serious consequences for (mental) health.
This tablet contains a high dosage of B12 (40,000% of the Recommended Daily Allowance), but the body can handle this well. It is better to take too much B12 than too little. Any excess is easily excreted.

However, for children and young adults, we always recommend consulting a doctor or healthcare professional before starting a supplement. It is important to remember that dietary supplements are not intended as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet, but as a supplement to it.
Isn't 1000 mcg far too much if everywhere it states 2.8 mcg? Or should you only take these once every few weeks?
On 22 may 2019 by Customer service2.8 mcg is the amount at which, on average, deficiency diseases do not arise. This is a very general guideline. In some situations, a higher dose may be desirable.
Not everyone absorbs vitamin B12 equally well. Particularly older individuals, for whom this formula is primarily intended, often do not absorb it well in the stomach, which is why sometimes a higher dose is preferable, ideally in a lozenge form and/or as methylcobalamin, to address any accumulated deficiency.
The name of the product indicates that vitamin B12 is involved in brain function. This does not necessarily have to be 1000 mcg per day. Even vegans require only about 50 to 250 mcg per day, in other words, the amount typically found in a multivitamin.
It is not advisable to take this product only once every few weeks. After opening, the contents should be consumed within approximately six months. Since there are 100 tablets in the jar, it is advisable to take at least 2 to 3 tablets per week, so that the jar is empty within about 3 to 4 months.
Can this product be used for children aged 7?
On 05 may 2019 by Customer serviceIf a doctor has recently diagnosed a deficiency of B12 in the child, then it is acceptable to administer this product to a 7-year-old for a few days or weeks until the deficiency is resolved.
However, it should not be necessary. A healthy, varied diet (including meat, fish, dairy, and eggs) provides more than enough vitamin B12. This supplement is primarily intended for older adults whose absorption of B12 from food is no longer optimal.
What reason would you have for giving this supplement to a 7-year-old? A reduced memory in children is not necessarily related to a lack of vitamin B12.

My advice is to continue using this product, but to supplement it with a well-rounded, high-dose multivitamin, such as the Mega Multi or the Female Multiple.
