The Swedish herbs and the small Swedish Herbal Bitters are marketed by Jacob Hooy in two forms. As an herbal mixture, from which you can make the elixir yourself, and as a ready-to-use herbal bitter. The herbal mixture is sufficient for preparing 1 litre of herbal bitter. Important Before using the small Swedish Herbal Bitters, it is best to lightly apply calendula ointment to the skin beforehand.

Fraxinus omus (manna)
Angelica archangelica (large angelica root)
Cinnamomum camphora (camphor)
Thereak sine opium (Venetian theriac*)
Rheum officinale (rhubarb root)
Curcuma zedoaria (zedoary root)
Commiphora molmol (myrrh)
Carlina vulgaris (carline thistle)
Crocus sativus (saffron)
*Venetian theriac: angelica root, valerian, cinnamon, zedoary root, cardamom seed, myrrh.
Alcohol 38 vol. % aa. 500 ml

Usage:
For internal use: 3 times daily 1 teaspoon dissolved in 25 ml water.
For external use: Soak cotton wool with Small Swedish herbal bitters and place it on the area to be treated. Cover with plastic, then bandage or cloth around it and leave for about 4 hours. To prevent skin irritation, apply Jacob Hooy's calendula ointment to the skin beforehand.
