HeltiQ Gauze Compress is a woven sterile gauze or compress that is suitable for both cleaning and covering dry or moist wounds. Dry wounds refer to closed wounds with a scab. Moist wounds are open wounds containing wound fluid. Use the HeltiQ Gauze Compress in combination with a wound disinfectant for cleaning your wound. Dispose of the gauze compress after cleaning and use a new gauze compress to cover the wound.
HeltiQ Gauze Compress is made of 100% cotton and has a fine structure, making it extremely suitable for absorbing a large amount of wound fluid. 
Moreover, the compress is comfortable and soft, does not fray, and retains its shape well. As a result, the HeltiQ Gauze Compress does not cause skin irritation. 
 
The HeltiQ Gauze Compress is a sterile product. By placing the gauze compress directly from the packaging onto the wound, it offers initial protection against dirt, moisture, and bacteria. After applying the gauze compress, secure the wound with a HeltiQ Elastic Fixation Bandage, a HeltiQ Self-Adhesive Bandage, or a HeltiQ Cambric Bandage. Secure the bandage with a HeltiQ Adhesive Plaster.

Usage
The gauze compress can be applied directly to the clean wound after cleaning to absorb wound fluid (if it is a moist wound) and to protect the wound:

Clean and disinfect the wound with a wound disinfectant. You can use a gauze compress to apply this disinfectant
Only remove the gauze compress from the packaging at the last moment to keep it sterile. (follow the instructions on the packaging). Hold the gauze compress between thumb and forefinger in a small corner or use tweezers
Cover the wound with the gauze compress. Then secure with a self-adhesive bandage or an elastic fixation bandage and secure with a HeltiQ Adhesive Plaster
 
TIP
Use a HeltiQ Ointment Gauze Compress in combination with the HeltiQ Gauze Compress for abrasions and minor burns.
 
Rinse the abrasion clean with gently running water. Remove any large dirt particles with tweezers. Then clean and dry the area around the wound with a sterile HeltiQ Gauze Compress. You can stop the bleeding by using HeltiQ Blood Stop Spray. Then cover the abrasion with a HeltiQ Ointment Gauze Compress, secure the whole with a HeltiQ Elastic Fixation Bandage and secure with a HeltiQ Adhesive Plaster. The ointment in the ointment gauze compress prevents sticking to the wound. This property reduces and soothes the pain and reduces the chance of scarring.
 
Aftercare
To remove the gauze compress, you can gently pull it off. If the gauze compress sticks to the wound or skin, you can try to soak the gauze compress off with lukewarm water.
Check the wound, the gauze compress, and the bandage regularly for leakage or drying out (sticking of the gauze compress to the wound)
Change the bandage daily or more often if necessary

Store dry and sealed. Sterile packed. Open just before use.
