The wolfberry, Lycium barbarum, is a shrub that can grow up to 3 metres high with thorny stems and oval-shaped leaves. The shrub blooms in purple. The leaves are a popular vegetable in Chinese cuisine. However, it is the berries, which can grow up to 2 cm in size, that are particularly cherished in Asia. They thrive in the sun-drenched Chinese province of Ningxia, at high altitudes, under natural and organically controlled conditions.

The berries are sun-dried at 25°C, allowing them to be considered as raw food. The key ingredients are preserved, and they taste delightful!

The people of the Hunzas (from the Himalayas/Tibet) also refer to goji berries as the "happy berry." Each year, they celebrate several festivals in honour of the goji berry.
