Sage is a plant that has been associated with eternal life since the time of the Greeks. The name 'salvia' is derived from the Latin 'salvare' – to save/heal. It is a purifying oil that dissolves mucus and 'clears the air'. Sage is an excellent mouthwash and ideal for vaporising in a sickroom. Vaporising sage enhances learning ability. On the skin (when processed in a base oil), sage is effective for oily skin, acne, and cellulite.
