If your client does not consume iodised bread, an important source of iodine is missing from their diet. Due to popular demand, we are therefore introducing Iodine 150 mcg (from kelp). Each tablet consists of 100% kelp and contains the full reference intake for iodine per day.

For adequate iodine intake, bread has traditionally been enriched with iodine (baker's salt). This is important because iodine contributes to the normal functioning of the thyroid gland and the nervous system. However, more and more people are avoiding bread. Or they opt for organic bread, which often does not contain iodised salt.

Naturally, fish and shellfish also contain iodine. In fact, fish is one of the most important natural sources we know. To obtain 150 mcg of iodine per day from fish, one would need to eat at least 150 grams of fish daily. On average, we consume 10 grams of fish per day.

Kelp is exceptionally rich in iodine. It forms the basis of many food chains in the ocean. The higher up we go in the food chain, the lower the iodine content becomes. In kelp, the iodine content remains at its maximum.

Kelp absorbs a broad spectrum of nutrients from seawater and stores them in a concentrated form. In addition to iodine, kelp contains small amounts of (trace) elements. To benefit from these, you would need to incorporate at least 70 grams of kelp into your daily diet. This is possible, of course, but it might be quite off-putting for many of your clients.

It is easier to recommend daily Iodine 150 mcg from 100% kelp. In addition to the daily reference intake of iodine per tablet, our supplement also contains all the concentrated elements and trace elements from kelp. This offers a solution, especially when your client switches to primal nutrition, eats little fish or bread, or is a vegetarian or vegan.
