According to experts, as much as 80% of the Dutch population, particularly in winter, suffers from a vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D is produced by the skin under the influence of sunlight: so when we wear clothes, use sunscreen, have a dark complexion, or during spring, autumn, and winter when the sun is not strong enough, too little is produced. The Health Council therefore recommends a daily supplement with a D3 supplement. Vitamin D3 plays an important role in bone formation (children/elderly), the immune system (resistance), and the nervous system (movement/reaction).
