Do you need to take a break period when using milk thistle?
On 03 september 2026 by Customer serviceNo mandatory break period is known for milk thistle. This means the herb does not need to be taken according to a fixed schedule, such as using it for a few weeks and then stopping for a few weeks.
That said, it is sensible to review after around 8 to 12 weeks whether continued use is still necessary. Long-term use is generally possible, provided the recommended dosage is followed and no side effects occur. If you have a liver condition, abnormal liver values, or you use medication long-term, guidance from a doctor or therapist is advisable.
