Locks in moisture and helps to keep my skin under control
Superb cream. It leaves your skin feeling very soft. Absorbs well despite being rich. Smells delightful.
The cream has a lovely fresh and natural scent and is made from organic ingredients. All well and good, but I find its effect on my skin to be disappointing. Another point is that Weleda's products are often packaged in metal-like tubes, which are incredibly inconvenient.
Skin Food nourishes all the rough and dry spots on the body. From dry knees and elbows, chapped lips, chafed hands to rough feet and even your face. Suitable for young and old. An ideal product to have on hand everywhere and at all times. A favourite for years – also among celebs and makeup artists!

Hello! I'm curious as to why your products contain alcohol. I'm always a bit wary of it due to having sensitive skin. Cheers, Annette
On 10 july 2025 by Customer serviceAlcohol is often used to extend the shelf life of a product or to dissolve ingredients. It also allows active substances to penetrate deeper into the skin. The downside of alcohol is that it achieves this by dissolving the oily layer on your skin, which can lead to dryness.
Generally, very little alcohol is used in Weleda facial care products, and there are sufficient active ingredients present to counteract or compensate for the drying effect of the alcohol, such as sunflower oil, lanolin, and almond oil in Skin Food. In practice, the alcohol will cause minimal irritation or dryness. However, we recommend avoiding alcohol if you have very sensitive skin, as this type of skin can react overly sensitively. Opt for care products that contain the 'fatty' variant of alcohol. This is alcohol bound to fatty substances, which hardly irritate and do not have a drying effect. For example: cetyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, myristyl alcohol, behenyl alcohol, and stearyl alcohol.
A care product similar to Skin Food that contains these 'fatty' alcohols is DD Cream Daily Defence by Madara.
