Oysters contain a wide range of vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and trace elements.
The balance of these elements is so well harmonised that their effect is synergistic, meaning they enhance each other.

Glycogen is converted into glucose, the glucose is consumed, and this releases a waste product (the so-called lactic acid).
The very high taurine content, found in the slimy fluid of the oyster, then breaks down the lactic acid.
This is precisely where the strength of the oyster lies.
Energy is supplied in the form of glycogen and the fatigue-inducing lactic acid is neutralised by the amino acid taurine.
