The mutual ratio of the aforementioned elements is so beautifully balanced that their effect is synergistic, i.e., they enhance each other.

Glycogen is converted into glucose, the glucose is consumed, and a waste product is released (the so-called lactic acid).
The very high taurine content, found in the slimy fluid of the oyster, then breaks down the lactic acid.

Energy is supplied in the form of glycogen, and the fatigue-inducing lactic acid is neutralised by the amino acid taurine.
