A lot of cheap acacia honey comes from China. The label then says: blended EU/Non-EU honey. In this case, EU honey = Hungary and Non-EU = China, meaning European honey is mixed with cheaper acacia honey from China. It goes without saying that Royal Green does not do this, and this immediately explains the price difference compared with the cheaper blended acacia honeys on the market. The difference in quality is clearly visible. Blended acacia honey is darker in colour and cloudy. Compare our pure acacia honey with other acacia brands.
The premium 100% European acacia honey comes from the Robinia pseudoacacia, which blooms in May and June in Italy. During this short flowering period, the bees collect nectar from trees up to 25 metres tall to create a unique honey. Without doubt the most popular and sweetest honey.
Never mechanically pressed
To be able to fill honey into jars, it must first be cleaned. This can be done via mechanical pressing or a traditional sieving process. To process it quickly, mechanical pressing is often used. The honey is then forced through a filter under high pressure. Traditional sieving and processing of honey can sometimes take days. No high pressure is used and no heat is generated. At Royal Green, they are in no rush and want unprocessed honey, ensuring all the beneficial nutrients are preserved.
