Plantina Astaxanthin-eco is an extract from the algae Haematococcus pluvialis, cultivated in an exceptionally clean and toxin-free environment in Hawaii, within a so-called 'Biosecure Zone'. Astaxanthin-eco also contains vitamin E, an antioxidant capable of neutralising so-called 'free radicals'.

Astaxanthin is classified as one of the 'GRAS' substances: Generally Recognized As Safe, the safest grade a substance can achieve.

Is very beneficial as one ages.
The reason I started trying this supplement was that I [.....] had. I was already taking glucosamine (with chondroitin) and magnesium. This provided slight improvement, but after 5 days of astaxanthin, the [.....] has completely disappeared. I have not yet noticed other physical improvements after 2 months of use.
I read about Astaxanthin in the magazine Fit with Nutrition and immediately thought: this is something for me. Since I started using this supplement, I have experienced less eye fatigue, and as an added bonus, my sun allergy has disappeared. For the first time in years, I have gone through spring without itching and, to everyone's surprise, I have even tanned. So, I will definitely continue taking this supplement.
I am now on my third jar and my hot flushes are significantly less than before. I no longer experience those severe sweating attacks.

For better absorption: preferably during or shortly after a meal.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid): 60 mg
Astaxanthin:
Astaxanthin: 4 mg
Vitamin E (as d-alpha-tocopherol): 15 IU
Additionally, all three contain beta-carotene, lutein, and canthaxanthin. The difference mainly lies in the percentages of added Vitamin E and Vitamin C. In that respect, the Astamax is the most comprehensive and highest dosed.
