Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, comes in various forms. Some forms need to be activated before they can be used by the body. Two metabolically active forms of vitamin B12 used in supplements are: methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. These forms require no conversion and are thus very efficient.

This supplement uses methylcobalamin. The B12 is also accompanied by folate (active folic acid) and the active form of vitamin B6 (or P-5-P). These vitamins work synergistically and all contribute to normal homocysteine levels.
