I believe there has been some confusion regarding the recommended dosage. The product Absolute Moringa Leaf 400 mg from Mattisson Healthstyle contains 400 mg of moringa leaf powder per capsule. Therefore, if you take two capsules a day, you are consuming 800 mg or 0.8 grams of moringa leaf powder, which is well below the recommended 10 grams.

 

Absolute Moringa Leaf 400 mg is not an iron supplement. As this is a natural product, it is not possible to specify how many mg of iron or B12 each capsule contains. What I can state right away is that these capsules do not contain a significant amount of iron, in other words: not enough to resolve an iron deficiency. And there certainly won't be too much in them.

Most sources suggest that these leaves contain 25 times more iron than spinach. Spinach contains about 3.5 mg of iron per 100 grams. Let us assume that Moringa leaf contains 25 times as much, which would be 87.5 mg per 100 grams. One capsule of 400 mg (or 0.4 grams) would then contain 0.35 mg of iron. This is therefore a negligible amount.

In the case of an iron deficiency, it is better to take a supplement that contains an exact dose of iron, in a well-absorbed form. For instance, the Iron Complex (which contains 25 mg of iron, 25 mcg of B12, and 400 mcg of folic acid per capsule).

Vitamin B12 is primarily found in animal products (meat, dairy, and such). Therefore, it is unlikely that Moringa leaf will contain a significant amount. Thus, even in the case of a deficiency of vitamin B12, it is better to take a separate dietary supplement, such as the Vitamin B12 1000 mcg methylcobalamin lozenges.
