Usage±
Take one capsule twice daily with plenty of water.
Preferably take with a meal.
If desired, the dosage can be increased to a maximum of 3 capsules per day.

Is this astaxanthin suitable for vegans? Or for vegetarians? Does it contain any of the following: shellfish, milk, animal products, eggs?

On 03 july 2017 by Customer serviceMoreover, with these types of capsules, we are talking about minuscule amounts: only a few milligrams, whereas for health research, test subjects have been given multiple grams per day (thousands of milligrams) without adverse effects. This is the positive health claim that the EFSA can support on products that provide at least 4 grams of HPMC per daily dosage: "The consumption of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose during a meal contributes to the reduction of blood glucose rise after that meal." In other words: the fibre is beneficial for blood sugar levels, starting from a certain dose.
Therefore, there is no need to avoid vegicaps (always made from this substance).
The entire list in "A booklet open about E-numbers" is filled with unscientific statements. Much of that nonsense is found on various internet forums, where they cause unnecessary panic.
