I've tried several different multivitamins a few times, even from reputable brands. However, I always return to this one. It keeps me feeling young inside and out. Perhaps it's just a suggestion, but I truly believe in it.
This is a complete multivitamin
In my opinion, this is the best multivitamin available and is often recommended by naturopaths.
ActiVmins
Phytochemically bound trace elements
Inorganic molecules of minerals and trace elements are naturally absorbed by plants, which have the capacity to convert them into organic mineral chelates. These are very well absorbed by humans. By providing plants with standardised amounts of minerals under scientifically established conditions, phytochemically bound trace elements can be 'harvested' in predetermined concentrations. This phytochemically bound form of minerals is not comparable to adding inorganic counterparts of minerals to dietary supplements. Traditionally, humans have obtained their minerals from plants (in the form in which they occur in plants).
Research shows that ActiVmins offer the following benefits:
• No yeast source, thus avoiding potential yeast-related issues
• Trace elements are present in forms that our body naturally recognises and assimilates
• Phytochemically bound trace elements are much better tolerated by our body than inorganic ones
• Lower dosages suffice due to better assimilation
• Phytochemically bound trace elements are less prone to interactions with other minerals
Bio Multi Plus is free from gluten, yeast, lactose, soy, sugar, preservatives, synthetic fragrances, colours, and flavours.

I eat vegan and would like to take 2 pills per day of this multivitamin and then supplement with extra D3 and B12. This should, in my opinion, be sufficient in addition to a reasonably balanced diet. Why is it recommended in the Netherlands to take only 1 pill per day while in other countries it is 2 or 3 per day?
The dosage of 1 tablet per day is an advised dosage. Additionally, we are required to include the statement "do not exceed the recommended dosage". Therefore, it is not a problem to take 2 tablets per day.
I have used this in the past but experienced diarrhoea. Could it be due to the extra fibres, particularly from the lentils, which my body is not accustomed to? Or is this side effect not known? Overall, it is a very good multivitamin that I would like to try again now that my chronic diarrhoea has subsided.
This multivitamin does not contain any components for which diarrhoea would be an expected side effect. The total amount of lentils and peas is 219 mg, which is negligible (for comparison, a tablespoon of lentil or pea soup contains around 5000 mg). The Bio Multi Plus was originally designed as a three-per-day formula. Therefore, I do not have an explanation for the diarrhoea you experienced. It could have been a coincidence.
The product description states that this product is rich in enzymes. Which ones exactly? I cannot see them listed in the ingredients.
The product as a whole is not rich in enzymes. The text mentions that Biotics products contain a plant culture that naturally provides, among other things, enzymes. In the Bio Multi Plus, several of the nutrients are delivered in the form of the so-called ActiVmin complex, which contains, among other things, the enzyme catalase, supplemented with the ActiVbase lentil and pea mixture. You can read more about these complexes on this page:

Is it not wise to place a warning on this product? I accepted and took it without question via an orthomolecular therapist (three times a day, due to [.....] and [.....]) without him mentioning that it contains lithium. I found it becoming too expensive, so I stopped and chose another option myself. He did not warn me about the potential side effects. Not good.
I have checked how the ingredients are currently listed on the website of the American manufacturer. It concerns 6.7 micrograms per tablet. Therefore, 20 mcg per 3 tablets. This is a minuscule amount.
Due to the new EU regulations, lithium is no longer listed as an ingredient on the packaging. This is because it is a too small amount, and it is a mineral for which no Recommended Daily Allowance has been established. Lithium naturally occurs in numerous foodstuffs including grains, kelp, pistachio nuts, mustard, dairy, meat, and fish.
In the tablets from Biotics, it is also about lithium in a natural food matrix. It is part of a "vegetable culture" (plant fermentation). Biotics states: "Specially grown, biologically active vegetable culture containing Phytochemically Bound Trace Elements™ and/or naturally associated phytochemicals including polyphenolic compounds with SOD and catalase, dehydrated at low temperature to preserve associated enzyme factors."
So, it concerns a minuscule amount of natural lithium.
Its effect is therefore not comparable to the medication of the same name.
Doctors prescribing lithium do so in dosages between 600 and 1200 milligrams. If we take 600 milligrams as an example (a relatively low dose), that equates to 600,000 micrograms. 600,000 divided by 20 mcg (the dosage you have taken) is one three-hundred-thousandth of that. To reach a dose of 600 mg of lithium, one would therefore need to take 300,000 tablets of Bio Multi Plus per day.
Your therapist did not endanger your health (in America, 3 tablets per day is the standard recommended dosage for this formula), and a warning on the label is not necessary.
