The Clove tree is a small, pyramid-shaped, evergreen tree that belongs to the Myrtle family. The dried flower buds, Cloves, have been used as a spice for many centuries. After picking, the flower buds are dried in the sun (or over a fire). The flower bud oil is steam distilled and is a light yellow oil with a sweet-spicy scent. The eugenol content is lower (60-80%) than that of the leaves, making the oil more suitable for aromatherapy.
Clove helps in resolving stagnant energy. It strengthens the self-healing powers in humans and the sense of self-worth. This oil has a very strong and protective effect on the human psyche.
