Shiitake donko is a dried mushroom with a thick, closed cap. The Japanese often use shiitake in meat and stew dishes and as a base for a miso soup broth. What’s special about adding shiitake is that it doesn't overpower the flavours of a dish but rather absorbs them. This results in a refined, subtle enhancement of flavour and texture!

Usage
Soak the shiitake for about 30 minutes. Then briefly fry the mushrooms or cook them with (miso) soup or other (rice and noodle) dishes. The soaking water can also be used.
