What this medicine is used for
Valdispert melatonin is used for the short-term treatment of jet lag in adults. Jet lag refers to the symptoms caused by time differences when travelling across different time zones (by travelling eastwards or westwards).

Ingredients
Active ingredients: Each tablet contains 3 mg melatonin
Excipients: calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous
silica and pregelatinised starch
Dosage
The recommended dosage is one tablet of 3 mg daily for a maximum of 4 days. The first dose should be taken upon arrival at your destination at your usual bedtime (local time). The dose on the following days should also be taken at your usual bedtime. If the standard dose of 3 mg does not sufficiently reduce symptoms, one 5 mg tablet may be taken at local bedtime instead. The 5 mg tablet should not be taken in addition to the 3 mg tablet, but a higher dose may be taken on the following days. The maximum daily dose is 5 mg once a day. The dose that sufficiently alleviates symptoms should be taken for the shortest duration possible.
Method of use
It is important that melatonin is taken at the correct time. If you take the tablet at the wrong time, melatonin may cause drowsiness and delay adjustment to local time. Therefore, the tablets should not be taken before 8:00 PM and after 4:00 AM. The tablets should be swallowed with a glass of water. It is advised not to eat 2 hours before and 2 hours after the planned time of taking melatonin.
